I'm not a URM and I have no good explanation for my low GPA. I'm just wondering if I have a good shot at getting into a T3 law school. My grades my say otherwise but I'm very passionate about wanting to become a lawyer.

I'm gonna tell you what everyone else will tell you. RETAKE the LSAT, if you are truly very passionate about becoming a lawyer.

To answer your question, I'm sure some schools will take you as long as you pay sticker.

Yea it's not your GPA that says otherwise, but rather your desire to settle w an average LSAT score for a score that may not ever lead to actually practicing as an attorney. If it's something you really want to do put yourself in the best position to accomplish it and retake

I do plan on taking the LSAT again but what if I don't score any higher ? You guys are saying I could still get into a t3 school with my current LSAT ?

Why do you want to be a lawyer? Serious question. Whenever I see pple oozing with passion for the law i ask this bc it helps to gauge how much they actually know about what being a lawyer is like.

The LSAT is a learnable test. If you are not scoring highly enough, it's because there's something wrong with your technique in answering questions.

Paying sticker at a school will cost you well into six figures. Find a way to spend a few thousand on an LSAT course and tutoring if necessary. You might not be able to score in the 99th percentile but there's room for very significant improvement that will increase your chance of both a scholarship and of getting into a school ranked highly enough to give you a shot at practicing law on graduation.

There are plenty of guides here to get you started.

why do you have this idea that going to law school makes you a lawyer?
at most ttts, you have a coinflip chance of finding actual full-time, long-term work as a lawyer
if you want to be an actual practicing attorney, check lawschooltransparency and automatically eliminate from your list any school that has, say, below a 60% employment score (and man am i being generous, most people would argue that number should be way way higher)

And coinflip is even being generous here!

OP, retake. If you think you can't do better you aren't studying correctly or hard enough.

Yeah, you probably could, but why would you want to?

It's one thing going to a TTT with a good scholarship in an area you have ties to but if you are willing to move to a state you have absolutely no ties to just to get into the highest ranked school possible, you're going about this the wrong way. Ask yourself why you want to practice law and seriously analyze the market in the reigon you're looking to enter. If you are one of these "I'm from Arizona, going to enroll at FIU law to practice in Boston for biglaw" type guys then you're in for a world of hurt my friend

Isn't there a saying about passion for winning doesn't compare to passion for preparing to win? The latter actually has a tangible impact on who wins. Being passionate about passing, shooting, and defending is likelier to lead to a w than being passionate about getting the w. This relates to you.

To quote BoJack Horseman: "You can either do things the easy way or the right way. You take a ship to New York. Do you sail around the horn like a gentleman or through the canal like some sort of a Democrat? YOU GO AROUND THE HORN LIKE GOD INTENDED."

Anyone with a pulse can get into a T3.

If you have money to give them, you'll get accepted to a terrible law school
