How important is GPA for international students

I got a GPA 3.XX but ranked top 10% in my class. Hoping to get into T14 if I score high in LSAT...

But I checked the TLS admission stats and found out I was no doubt way below all the T14 mean and there are barely any student from TLS with a GPA lower than 3.6 get into T3 or T3...
I didn't realize that GPA is that much important, so is there any chance I can make-up for that?
(I mean I thought I ranked top 10% in class is pretty good, at least it won't do any disadvantage to my application..)

Just feeling very sad.

Also, there is a - currently very lonely - international applicants thread for the upcoming cycle here http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 7&t=233438

tl;dr unless you are from Canada, your GPA won't matter.
Thank you very much!
I am from China and there are increasing ppl applying for Law school now..
I checked those posts last night, too :) and the guy from Oxford (http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 2&t=233400) is from LSE, my college is not as prestigious as his and not many ppl applied to Law School, (I doubted if there would be 50 accumulatively..) And because actually every school of my university has a various mean GPA and my college has a pretty low one compare to other schools.

The stats just like BANG to me..Kinda lost what to do and what can I make up for that now..
Is it writing an addendum explaining why I got such low GPA helpful?
