Is it worth my time and effort to hand-write a continued letter of interest to admissions at schools where I am hoping for a late admission spot for Fall 2014?

What about an e-mail?

"Worth my time" is tricky.

It won't do any good, but it takes very little time to send an e-mail, so depending on how you value your time, it might or might not be worth it.
