I have this guideline, and would love to hear any input from you guys. is this correct, or no or is anything very wrong.
September/October/November- early, in good shape.
December/first or second week of Jan- not early, at the same time not late too
Last 2 weeks of January/Feb- late, at a bit of a disadvantage
March- very late, at a significant disadvantage.

thanks! thats what I thought, and whats your opinion about submitting in December/first or second week of Jan. Is it safe to say its not early, and at the same time, also not late.

You know, I honestly can't say.
Some people have noted that this cycle has been particularly harsh on late applicants. I'd recommend everyone get their stuff in before Thanksgiving.

+1
But everything still depends on your LSAT score. Is your score below your target schools median? Do you think you could take either the September or December test to retake and boost your score? These are really important questions. No point in rushing to apply early if your score is low and you know you can do better.
If you have a high score then great, apply the first day the apps come out.

Semi-related question: I'm working on essays, resume, etc., right now, have already taken the LSAT--I want to be submitting in November, the earlier the better. What I've been wondering is how early is too early to ask recommenders for letters? (One I think should be pretty straightforward, but number two I'm both not as confident about, and has been travelling a lot in the past year and I'm slightly worried about email connectivity.)

Bolded.
Middle bear it's almost never too early to ask for recs cause usually things come up or they take an extremely long time so it's better to have them done early.

Ask as early as possible. Professors are busy and sometimes forget. Asking early gives you some buffer time in case this happens. If they get it done in a timely manner, LSAC can hold onto it for you and you won't have to worry about it later.

Yeah, I'm applying next cycle and I asked for my recs in like February. I told the profs they had plenty of time, but they still had them in by April, and it's nice to just have them done. Ask in person if possible, also.

I submitted in the first week of January. I was WLed at five schools that I would have had a solid chance at if I'd submitted back in November. Do yourself a favor and submit as early as possible!
