Top Law Schools

Hey, so Columbia (finally) requested an updated transcript from me. I sent them an unofficial copy, but they obviously want me to send it into LSAC, which will in turn be sent out to all schools which I'm still under review. The problem is that it will drop my GPA slightly (not majorly, but just enough to make me not want to do it immediately).

Since it's already April 15, I'm guessing decisions will be coming out in the next couple weeks for the remainder of the schools I'm waiting on (six T14 schools), so should I just wait a little before updating, or would that hurt my chances too much at Columbia?

I think Columbia requested them and it's getting very late in the cycle so you should update them. I understand the concern but, in my opinion, it doesn't really matter since you sad it was a slight drop and you have to send them in eventually. I guess I can see the argument for waiting to send them but you can't hide them forever.

Again this is simply my opinion on it.

ETA: If your GPA from your profile and LSN is correct then there is absolutely no reason not to do this. You're at a 4.0. You're going to be above everywhere's median regardless of your tiny drop in GPA and likely above all 75ths still. Send the transcripts in.

If it drops a little bit they won't care. They want to make sure you aren't dropping below a 75th/median or that you didn't like, stop trying or something. Don't freak out, send it in ASAP. It takes LSAC a bit to process it.
