Why is the employment outcome for unlv law so abysmally low? It is ranked 68 and has a much lower employment outcome (60%) than lower ranked schools such as lsu which sits at 92%....

Also, at a certain point, rankings become pretty arbitrary. That's why people always recommend consulting LST for employment numbers rather than relying on USNWR.

60% of the rankings are based on non-arbitrary criteria. You could point out that the weighting is arbitrary, but that would be consistent across tiers.

Enough of the rankings are made up of crap that doesn't matter to make the whole thing pretty arbitrary and stupid. American is not better than LSU, I don't care how many non-arbitrary factors are factored in.

The better way to ask this is, why is the ranking for UNLV so high when it has such a low employment outcome? Because a huge chunk of the rankings derives from asking law profs, deans, and judges/practicing lawyers (most of the latter of whom don't reply to the survey) about the school's reputation, which has nothing to do with employment.

Also, if by LSU you mean Louisiana State, it doesn't have a 92% employment score. It's 74%.

I was probably a little imprecise. 60% of the factors may be quantifiable, but a lot of them meaningless in terms of impacting student outcomes

Casino Law hasn't been the same since Dennis Quaid started running off the mobsters.
