Withdraw an ED application before admission?

Hey all,
Tried to search but couldn't come up with a clear answer.

Basically I got accepted into GWU regular decision and applied to Georgetown ED, which I am still waiting to hear back from. I'm starting to really fall in love with GWU and the campus location and am considering withdrawing from Georgetown ED so that they can't "take me away" from GWU.

Questions:
1) Can I do this? If so, do I just email the admissions department?
2) Will I have to withdraw my application entirely, or can I just downgrade it to regular decision?

Thanks everyone.

I would contact their admissions department. But be prepared to go to GWU, because they may tell you that you have to withdraw your application entirely. I am surprised you would still be under consideration for ED at this point. I would have expected you to be deferred to the regular decision pool by now. In this case, you need not withdraw because you will not be bound to your ED obligation anymore.

In short - call GULC soon. Find out if you were deferred from ED to regular decision. If you are still ED and not regular decision, find out if you can ask to be moved to regular decision.

EDIT: Just looked at your numbers and that you got waitlisted at American. In all honesty, Georgetown is almost definitely not going to happen so don't get too stressed out about the ED contract.

Yes, and if you're sure, do it sooner rather than later.

No idea, but if you were on the bubble I wouldn't expect an admit.

GULC ED runs late; applicants applying before 2/1 get a decision within three weeks, but you can apply after that date.
