Send email directly to dean for scholarship increase?

I received an email from a dean increasing the original scholarship offer I got (I didn't ask for more, it was a pleasant suprise), but I was hoping to get an increase now. In her email she wrote me she said that if I have any questions about the scholarship to contact her, so should I send my email asking for more aid to her or to financial aid office? Has anyone else had experience with this?

Dont flat out and ask for more money without having bargaining power. You need to show that another school has offered you more money, but that school is not your first choice and their school is. This way you don't blatantly ask and the clear import from presenting this information is to see if the school you want more money from will give you more.
They may say: "im sorry, but this is all we can offer" or "we can match that offer" They may give you an increase on contingency as well.
