ATL, NLJ and Forbes are all far more useful!

USNWR uses too much input data and emphasizes unimportant things. Also, its "reputational" rankings are highly suspect. Even Princeton Review is more useful. At least you know they really conducted surveys.

the biglaw attorneys i know certainly pay att'n to the usnwr rankings.

i get the impression that schools' reputations (which employers do consider when making hiring decisions) and schools' rankings are in a sort of feedback loop, where good reputation begets a high ranking and a high ranking begets good reputation.

Yes, what all of us practicing in D.C. have known for years: W&L is not a feeder school to any employment market.

Finally, the veil of deceit has been lifted. Unfortunately, a long list of current admits are going to continue to be swayed by large scholarship dollars to a rural market. Huge mistake. Please heed TLS advice and select a feeder school residing within a substantive urban market if you don't get into a T10 or T14.

Totally was gonna apply there too, until Google Maps showed me that it is not near anything at all.

Someone is getting fired at USC,ND,Indiana and of course Washington and Lee University and some others.. But of course it's so close they could regain the same spots they lost next year..

The 51 - 100 just got posted by Spivey. We will likely soon see the day that the middle tier private school conglomerate -- Washington & Lee, Baylor, U Miami, SMU -- are all ranked together just behind urban in-state schools.
