Top Law Schools

Okay, let me lead off with saying I know I made a huge mistake. I took the LSAT last december, applied to law school in January and am in the second semester of my 1L now. My LSAT was a 175 and my ugpa was 3.98. Instead of waiting for the next cycle, i went to a low T1 school near family because of a full scholarship. My law school gpa is 3.8 which puts me at the top 1-2% of my class.
I didn't realize at the time how tremendous of a mistake I was making, not taking advantage of my numbers and not even applying to top schools. All I want now is a second chance. I don't care if I have to retake my first year.

My question is, should I (and can i) drop out now before I have a full first year of grades and apply in the fall and somehow explain my poor judgment?
Or do I take the (huge) risk in transferring where my lsat/ugpa won't be considered much and my lsgpa might not be enough to get me into a top school?

Any advice would be great!

at this point i think you gotta let it ride and try to transfer. depending on what school youre at now you may have boxed yourself out of YHS.

Don't beat yourself up too much. You have a full ride at a legit school and are in the top 1-2%. Just kill it again this semester and you'll have great options.

If you're in the top of your class then you can just transfer and you've saved yourself 1 year's worth of tuition. If you don't remain in the top of your class, how far could you possibly fall? You'll still probably be doing well enough and remain debt free. It's not terrible. Don't stress.

Also, you should know I tell everyone to drop out. So me not telling you to drop out is kind of significant.
