Processing time for LOR to show up on LSAC account?

Post by ballsoharduniversity » Thu Feb 13, 2014 11:46 am

Not applying until the next cycle/this fall so this isn't really the most urgent thing, but I'm an anxious person.

How long does it take for a LOR to show up on your LSAC account? My professor emailed me saying that he uploaded it yesterday afternoon and is waiting for a confirmation email but I checked my account and it says that they haven't received it yet. Is this normal? How long should I expect for it to be processed?

Very short processing time for me too - my recommender called me to get clarification on something, and then an hour or so later, the LOR showed up in my account.

Interesting, I'll email him to see what's up. On my LSAC account, it says the status is "acknowledged" as of yesterday. Anyone know what exactly "acknowledged" means?

I believe 'acknowledged' to mean that your recommender has somehow confirmed or responded to the original e-mail LSAC sent them (confirming information, etc.)

Hey so can u break down the process to me like a fifth grader. So I ask the person who is going to write my letter of rec to create an account on LSAC, and then electronically upload it? Is that it or is there anything else to it?

Not exactly. You go into your LSAC account, and enter in the recommender's name, title, contact info, etc. Then LSAC sends them an email with all the directions they'll need, along with a link to submit the letter.

The processing is literally instant.

Have him re-upload.

For future people finding this thread like I did via search, I called LSAC and clarified that if you see "Acknowledged" it means that the recommender clicked the email but did NOT successfully upload a letter. It should change to "Received" immediately after a successful upload.
