I'm curious: What would be some examples of someone with "average" softs for a T14 school? (I mean the average admitted applicant, not the average applicant.)

I answered in the weak softs thread, but:

From what I've seen, I'd say it's 1-2 years WE, at least one leadership position for a school extracurricular club, some volunteer work, and a couple of internships.

Unless it's Yale, then it's more like curing cancer, publishing bestsellers and/or being an olympic silver-medalist.

Having an LSAT and a GPA over the 25th percentile is also a huge soft.

I can personally attest that they're not that picky

1-2 years of work experience that doesn't involve waiting tables or flipping burgers

1-2 interesting college internships

Foreign language skills, significant time abroad, college athlete, club leadership, significant volunteer work, publications, good work experience, graduate degrees, professionals credentials.

I would guess a lot of admitted students have one or more of the above.

I thought, by definition, a "soft" was a non-quantifiable aspect of your application, which is the complete opposite of LSAT scores and GPA. In fact, some people consider *anything* other than LSAT/GPA to be a soft.

And the punch line sticks the landing.
