C & F Addendum

I've gotten a few tickets before that I didn't think was a big deal, but reading this forum has made me nervous. I know I should probably send in an addendum, but I'm not exactly sure how this works. How detailed do I need to get? What if I can't really remember the details aside from the fact I was speeding?
Also, am I correct in that CLS, NYU, and Penn are schools that want us disclose traffic violations? Would this impact my decisions at all? I applied in November.
Thanks!

Not to derail your question but can the dmv pull up traffic violations from years ago?

I don't think so. I had a private company search my Driving History and it came up blank, even though I had 2+ tickets from 13 years ago. I think, depending on your state, simple violations only stay on the History for a certain number of years, but not sure...
Edit: But you should be able to order your History from your Sec'y of State for a nominal fee to find out for sure.

Are those violations still showing up on your Driver History or are you just doing this by memory?

I'm not sure- how do I check my driver history? I got a ticket this past summer, so I'm pretty sure that one will show up. The other one is from three years ago.

In my state you fill out a form and mail it to the Sec'y of State with a self-addressed stamped envelope and a check or cash, around $10.00. I plan on doing it, but haven't yet. I think the private service I hired only went back 3-5 years, and my stuff is from 10+.
