What are some good jobs to apply to for the year in between UG and law school? My UG career services site lists a bunch of legal assistant jobs, I was just wondering if that's the standard option for most people taking a year off. I'm not necessarily looking for something to boost my application, I plan on doing all my boosting at the test center

Look for something that will boost your standing at OCI. Any professional type of office job that shows firms they won't be your first "big boy/girl" job would help. They want to know you will already know the basics of working in a professional setting.

Do something crazy.
Work in a North Dakota oil field, put out deck chairs on a beach in Mexico, do odd jobs trekking through Australia, teach English in China, or just try the type of job you never would want long term, like working in a coal mine, a poultry factory, or a steel mill.

It's your one chance to do something just for the hell of it, take advantage. Don't work a boring office job... You'll be doing that for the rest of your career
