Hey, so I think I heard somewhere that Columbia requires two LOR's from faculty for K-JD applicants. My question is, if I were to ask for a LOR from a grad student who taught one of my courses (a writing seminar), would that count? Or are they referring to actualy professors or lecturers?

That's fine, but you def want the other to be a professor professor.

They want recommenders who can specifically speak to your academic capabilities. From what I've read, schools prefer a LOR from a TA who knows you very well and can write a LOR that's been individualized for you far more than one from a Nobel laureate prof who barely knows you.
