Do schools wait for extra LOR?

Post by BaberhamLincoln » Wed Jan 08, 2014 11:47 pm

I looked all over LSAC and TLS and couldn't find the answer to this:

All but two of my schools only asked for one LOR. The other two asked for two.
The guy who wrote my L1 knows me best and will write a better one, but the one who wrote my L2 finished it and submitted it first.

To a school that I assigned both LORs, but only requires one, will they wait until they receive the second to review my app? My L2 was submitted Monday and my L1 will be submitted tomorrow so not a huge time difference.

Just not sure if they stop accepting LORs once they have the required amount or if they know to wait on it.

Thanks guys!!

This probably varies from school to school, but I know several that will begin to review your file once you have the required number of LORs. You could always email them and ask if they can wait on the 2nd LOR.

I believe they do, if they receive a new one. It appears to have delayed a few of my apps a bit at least.
