If an application says a resume is optional, should I actually consider it optional?

I would include it. Worst case scenario they don't really care and it's a page. Best case scenario it gives you the slightest edge in your admissions and that's worth fucking everything.

i'd say if you didn't submit a resume, you'd be in the (very small) minority - it could potentially seem like you're not taking your application seriously. it really can't hurt
