I know multiple LSAT addendum have been covered a lot on TLS but after looking through the forums I did not find a situation like mine.

Four LSATs 158,164,166,173. No great reason other than being studying more and better. Thinking about submitting something like this:

The increase in my LSAT scores from June 2011 to October 2013 is the result of being better prepared for each test. The tests before October 2013 were well below my pre test averages each time. Therefore each time I felt compelled to retake to try and reach my score potential. I believe my October 2013 LSAT score is the most representative of my abilities and ask that you consider it when evaluating my multiple LSAT scores.

Applying T14 with a 3.6 GPA. Any feedback is appreciated.

I cannot answer your questions but you have given me hope that I can increase my score so THANK YOU If you don't mind me asking are any of your increases a October to December increase?

No, it's pretty obvious that you just kept studying. You should only write and addendum for something like 155 in June -> to 174 in October.

I'm just concerned they will want to hear something from me about my multiple scores. It kind of feels like the elephant in the room of my application. I think Penn and Michigan say you should address multiple scores if the difference is greater than 5 or 6 points.

Also, I've never taken the December test.

I wouldn't bother. One score matters for USNews reporting, so roll with it. They truly give zero fucks, and as someone else noted, the pattern is apparent.

Why didn't you just wait till you were ready the first time? Does this guy think hes gonna get 4 attempts at exams when he gets here?

If you can find a way to address those questions in an addendum with out sounding like an unprepared moron then I would do it. Otherwise I wouldnt run the risk of making it sound like I was making an excuse. The fact that you started at a 158 is also a concern.

Law schools are desperate for well-qualified applicants right now. This to some greater or lesser extent includes every school south of Harvard.

The italicized sentence essentially answers the following questions, and many many more:

(1) "How should I explain the increase in my LSAT score?"

(2) "Should I have an interests section on my resume?"

(3) "Is it OK to have a rec letter from X as opposed to Y?"

(4) "How should I explain why I withdrew after being accepted at a school that I'm applying to again?"

(5) "Will schools care that I got a MIP when I was 19?"

(6) "Does taking the LSAT in December hurt my chances?"

Etc etc etc

The answer to all such questions is, it doesn't matter*

Thanks for the replies. I totally agree I handled the LSAT stupidly.

When I took the first two I was planning on attending my local T1 (ranked in the 40s by USNWR) and just wanted mid 160s. As I became more aware of the situation in the legal market, I realized I need a 170+ to have a realistic shot at a job as a lawyer. Retook when I felt ready and bombed it with a 166. I figured I would give it one more shot and got the 173.

I think I have to address it even if its just for my piece of mind.
