Hi all,
Could someone confirm that the following list for T-14 optional essays is comprehensive? I found a list on TLS but it was fairly old (2009?)
This is only regarding optional essays, not addendum and diversity statements.
Yale - Personal statement + Yale 250
Harvard - Personal statement
Stanford - Personal statement
UChicago - Personal statement
Columbia - Personal statement
NYU - Personal statement
UPenn - Personal statement + Optional Essay
Berkeley - Personal statement
Michigan - Personal statement + Optional Essay
UVA - Personal statement
Duke - Personal statement + Optional Essay
Northwestern - Personal statement
Cornell - Personal statement
GULC - Personal statement
Am I missing anything? Thanks!

Pretty sure Yale's 250 is NOT optional.
Georgetown has a set of 250 word optional essays, of which you may submit 1. Prompts are here:

Penn's is basically required, Y250 is required. Duke, UVA and UMich are YPish without their optional essay but some recommend waiting for waitlists.

They actually say up to 4 pages, I believe - correct me if I'm wrong.

Do those NYU scholarship program essays count as optional essays? Also, do diversity statements count? If I remember correctly, Harvard had an optional Diversity essay.

I've been struggling with whether to write optional essays or not. Came across this and thought I'd share:
