Education on resume--optional?

Hey everyone,
Do I need an education section on my resume? It seems pretty redundant, seeing that the admissions committee already has all of my relevant education information (GPA, transcript, university, major, etc). I could use all of the space I can get, so I'd love to be able to omit this section, if possible.
Thanks in advance for your help.

You need to include it.

I think it would look odd not to include it.

Absolutely include it.

Unless you have a decade+ of the most fascinating and diverse work known to man, you can fit it on one page with an education section. And even with that decade+, you can probably fit it.

Include it, and think twice about all the fluff you think is more important than where you went to school. If it is actually important stuff, then it is ok for it to be more than one page. However, 9 times out of 10 it is just unnecessary fluff.
EDIT: Source- I made up the 9 times out of 10
