Top Law Schools

Hello All!

I have a quick question. I will be getting married in the next month, but I plan to apply to law schools before the wedding. My last name will be changing once I am married and therefore will no longer match up with my application name (although my current last name will become my middle.) Has this caused anyone issues in the past? Let me know if there is something I need to do. Maybe just mail the marriage certificate to schools I get accepted to?

You could just not change your name.

you'll be fine. Just include both names on every communication to the schools, and maybe even flag it where appropriate. It will not be the first time they've seen it.

Or hold off until after admissions are over to do all the name-changing stuff. It doesn't happen instantly upon saying "I do." You can operated just fine with your maiden name until a more convenient time.
