just disclose everything, you should be fine.TrunksFan1 wrote:So a Summary offense for underage drinking won't at all hinder his chances of getting into prestigious law schools like NYU+ then?
No, it doesn't matter. Schools only really care if a) there's a strong pattern of recklessness, especially if they feel like you are trying to make excuses or pass the blame, or b) if they're concerned that you might have trouble being admitted to the bar. Your son doesn't appear to qualify for either of these, so I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.TrunksFan1 wrote:So a Summary offense for underage drinking won't at all hinder his chances of getting into prestigious law schools like NYU+ then?
This. A 3.7 with an alcohol citation has better odds than a 3.6 without one, all else being equal.Happy Gilmore wrote:It certainly will not help, but it is not the end of the world. The 3.6 is the most concerning thing in your post.

Just make sure that he's better than this at taking responsibility for his actions in his disclosures.TrunksFan1 wrote:Liquor control for the event randomly targeted his group of friends before they could reach a large crowd asking them for ID. Unfortunately, he had a can of beer in his hand, and as a result, was issued a citation.

There's no need to be rude here. This is the parent of a teenager; there's nothing wrong with being concerned about your child.matthewsean85 wrote:+1Void wrote:I found the helicopter parenting more concerning.Happy Gilmore wrote:It certainly will not help, but it is not the end of the world. I'd say if he's bold enough to post this kind of thing on the internet "for his son," then he's probably man enough to hear a few off-the-cuff opinions on it.wakawaka86 wrote:There's no need to be rude here. A: the "child" here is an adult, and should be figuring out law school on his own because mommy won't be there to hold his handwakawaka86 wrote:There's no need to be rude here.
