if you have a record of:
cancel (june), 155-160s guesstimate (october), 167-170s (december)
If you have a long retake process like this, is it very unappealing to schools, even if you end up with a 170?

does this mean I put off applying in general until after I get the December score? Or do I submit my entire application in October and wait for my dec lsat?

I have a long retake process than you. I'll let you know how it turns out.

This is a lot of speculation.
Come back with an october score

You shouldn't take October if you are going to do shitty.

I particularly appreciate how you not only speculate as to your upcoming test, but then make a prediction on the following one as well

THIS. I took October two years ago and I was completely not ready, because I felt pressured to apply that cycle - do not make the same mistake! Wait until you are scoring consistently where you want to score.
I'm facing heavy parental pressure to take it...I don't know how avoidable the Oct test is for me. I'm just asking if it looks bad.

Me too that was pretty good. OP don't take it in October if you aren't even coming close to 170 on practice tests.

Parental pressures? Will they be paying your law school tuition?

This makes it more difficult, but you just have to reiterate that the score you get on your exam matters far, far more than the date you take it

i faced the same parental pressures. this is the time to tell your parents to fuck off, that a high lsat score trumps everything.

I agree with other posters here -- while schools wont average your scores, seeing a 150-something is never a good thing for a top school. Dont waste time with short term prep when you could play a long game and ultimately win.
If you just want to treat the Oct LSAT as a real-time practice exam and cancel your score, whatever, but I would rather have just a 170 than a cancel, 170 or 158, 170. Less awkward questions in your JS1.

They realize law school starts on the same day whether you take oct or Dec? The only difference is where...
