Do law schools give fee waivers without knowing your LSAT score? I know one reason schools give fee waivers is to increase the applicant pool, so they may not necessarily need to know your LSAT score, or do they? Basically, I'm wondering whether any of you have asked for a fee waiver without having an LSAT score yet and what the outcome was. Thanks in advance!!

People have received waivers without an LSAT score.

Generally for soliciting merit based waivers schools want an LSAT score. However, may as well give it a try.

I'm considering soliciting for fee waivers because I'd prefer getting my applications submitted within a few days of receiving my lsat score in the end of october. However, my UGPA is less than impressive, so I will probably wait. I have some nice softs (PhD and MBA each with 4.0s), but I doubt that's enough to offset a low GPA for merit based fee waivers. If I do, however, I will certainly create a thread and let you all know what I find out.

You might as well wait. Schools are pretty quick to respond to waiver requests AFAIK

That's what I figure. I'm sure they'll be swamped with them the first week after the scores are released, but they do seem to be pretty quick from what I hear. I'm looking to have all my apps completed before the scores are released, so waiting a few days into November for waivers won't hurt my timeline at all.
