Top Law Schools

UNC's application is a big strange compared to most. Rather than ask for a straight up personal statement there are two fairly specific essays you have to write plus two optional essays that amount to a diversity statement and an addendum explaining a poor LSAT score or low GPA. Applicants can submit one or both of these optional essays but the school will take no additional addenda. I know that a GPA addendum is supposed to be very brief and to the point, but since UNC is framing this as an essay rather than a standard addendum, should I take that as a hint that they are looking for more than just a paragraph or two? They indicate that the essay can be up to two double-spaced pages but do they really want me to use it all?

UNC did the same thing for their undergrad application as well requiring multiple essays over more selective schools. I guess it is kind of UNCs thing to make sure you actually want to be in chapel hill
