Top Law Schools

last week, I received an email congratulating me on acceptance into FCS. A few minutes later I receive another email from the same administrator, apologizing in the error being made. She mentioned that there was an error in the email system and that the email that I was suppose to receive was a notification that my file was in review, but they still hope to "see" <-- (direct quote) me at their webinar that focuses on how to pay for your law school education.

However, I was already aware of this from an email sent almost two weeks ago; thus creating a new password with my username that was provided to check the admissions status.

Has anyone else ran across this sort of confusion/ mistake while waiting for their results in admission status?

Withdraw your application. Don't go to Florida Coastal under any circumstances.

You should ask them to pay you for applying.

They could have the best email system in the world and it still wouldn't be worth going if you ever actually, you know, want a lawyering job.

Educate yourself. It will cost you almost a quarter million dollars (not counting interest) for about a 1/3 shot at ANY job as a lawyer, and about a 6% shot at making more than $50k/yr. Florida Coastal would do the country a favor if it spontaneously burned to the ground.

Run as fast and as far as you can from that dump.

Don't ruin your life by attending this school, OP. Educate yourself about horrible condition of the legal market, your dismal job prospects from this school, and the implications of having massive non-dischargeable debt that grows at ~7.6% per year.

Florida Coastal is just an error in general.

I wish I had something positive to say about Florida Coastal. I know you don't want to hear about how crappy the school is from trolls on the internet, so I highly suggest doing some research into the quality of a Florida Coastal degree (relative to other schools). Don't use their website though, try to find an independent source. Good Luck.

Tacky and unorganized? That should be the least of your concerns. The school is a scam ("for-profit" should clue you in) and a certifiable dump with some of the worst job prospects in the country.

That you're even considering the school indicates that you need to educate yourself on the job market and the admissions process. Florida Coastal is a tremendously terrible decision for just about anyone. $200,000+ for a 30-40% shot at a lawyer job and probably less than a 10% job at decent employment.

I'm not defending Florida Coastal because there are a good number of steps you can build into your software mail merge, including sending tests to smurf accounts, but I will say this happens just about every year and isn't confined to lower tier schools. Years back Berkeley Law did this and then sent a series of hastily worded and poor emails to try to explain the error.
