I think it might be an interesting soft factor (and a good PS topic), but it's not going to add 0.3 to your GPA or anything.

Just trying to blindly rank soft factors by prestige, I think it'd be somewhere around being a non-famous DI athlete, still well below witing a NYT bestselling novel or winning Olympic gold.

Dean Tom likes crafting his class. Your background sounds really interesting, so it will definitely help you (I daresay at Berkeley more than other schools) if you present this well.

Why would you toss away 3 yrs in law school if you could be a health "celebrity" and mae bank helping people in an industry you are passionate about? How will a JD help?

I figure this is something I can continue to build while I'm in law school, as a JD is something I really want to obtain for myself.

It's going to be 100% about how you present it. I wouldn't start with I'm an internet celebrity with a 50k following. Talk about how its who you are and how its something your passionate about. Tell a story, as long as it ties together with who you are, then it will be a great soft. A well crafted PS will take effort to write, but if you present it in the right way, it will stand out. It's something that makes you unique.

I'm just starting to write my PS, so my advice might not even be worth its full 2 cents.

Also, I got into Berkeley but likely from my numbers and applying early.


Applying early is a hugeeeeeeeeeee (note all the es) boost for Berkeley
