...and they hired a marketing consulting firm to survey potential future law school applicants and figure out the best way to sell it to you. Got the email today. http://www.simpsonscarborough.com My favorite question on the survey asks the participant to select, from a field of perennial TTTs, which five you consider to be overall excellent law schools. Fortunately, there was indeed an option to select "None."

Based on the questions in the survey, it looks like the major selling points will be:
-One less year of Cost of Living,
-The possibility of earning money a year sooner (key word: possibility)
-2-yr program credit hours will cost the same as 3-yr program credit hours (apparently this is impressive??)
-The flexibility to change from a 2-yr program to a 2.5, 3, or even 4 year program (they call it a Flexible JD program or something to that effect.

"Awesome! I can go to Brooklyn Law and be making mad dollarz in 2 years!! And if it's too difficult and I need more time I can just switch to 3 or 4 years!!" (moar debt!)

I'd include the link to the survey, but since I completed it already the link in the email is no longer valid. Too bad, because it would have been good for laughs.

Doesn't this violate some ABA regulations?

Oh yeah, I left out the best part! Supposedly only the "first 200" participants get one. I haven't heard anything about mine...I'm waiting, Simpson and Scarborough!!

Cool that Brooklyn is doing 2 year JDs. On the other hand you are stuck with a Brooklyn JD.

I think I am one of the rare people on TLS that thinks 3 years is about the right length of time for a JD.

The amount of coursework is still the same. You just start at the beginning of summer and take classes non-stop for 24 awful months.

+1 the best part is an amazon gift card is probably more valuable than a Brooklyn Law JD. They're both relatively worthless but at least one doesn't saddle you with debt

I'm not familiar with the NY market, but is Brooklyn Law that bad?

Just curious on how would it stack up to the other schools:

C, NYU, Fordham, Brooklyn, Dozo, NYLS?

Brooklyn isn't that bad, and if you are top 10% you will have a good chance at various different vault 100 NYC offices.

That survey is a TTT move if I've ever seen one. Not only will you be faced with laughable job prospects if you attend Brooklyn Law's 2-year program -- you'll get to graduate with less practical experience (read: no practical experience) than your peers.
