I really want to have my applications in as early as possible so I don't have to worry about them anymore, could having them completed in september hurt me in any way? Should I wait?
Contact the schools. Some having rolling admissions but many ONLY accept applications during limited windows of time. Whatever they tell you, roll with that.

I play the odds. I'm a betting man and I always win except when I lose.

ok, but how would the odds be better late vs early?

Odds are better to apply early. There is no downside.

I was referring to the odds op doesn't have a 180

an extreme I know, think fertile octogenarian mentality,

OP.........what was your GPA and LSAT score? These could be factors in the advice given.

From OP's profile:

Highest LSAT: 171
GPA: 3.5
Major(s): Political Science
Residency: Domestic (no state specified)
Underrepresented Minority?: No

Go ahead and apply early, and retake if you want to. If you score better, update the schools and let them know. You probably don't need to retake though.

Retake. CCN opens up with 1 more point and you've already admitted you have nothing to do

We may be overdoing it with the retake advice nowadays...

In this case, OP is below both medians at CCN and right around the 75 for MVPD. Three or four more points puts him at or above everyone's 75. GPA isn't that bad... he will get $$ somewhere with a few more points on the LSAT.

Retake in Oct, still apply early (in Nov) and enjoy that T14 $$ with your higher LSAT

Yes, This.

Still apply, but retake if you think you can do better and if the school doesn't "average" the scores. 100% agreed.

I'm not retaking, but I will definitely be applying early.
glad we could help, and yeah if not retaking then I can't imagine any benefit to waiting to apply (in some cases seats could actually get filled if you wait, and the sooner you apply the sooner you can fix any unexpected "bumps" in the road if they need you to answer extra questions, etc)

I applied in September and actually wish I had waited until November or December. When I applied, I was still relatively new to workforce and was not able to talk about my WE very substantively. A few more months might have changed my application for the better.

Not sure if that will apply to you, OP, but it's definitely a situation in which waiting can help. As for retaking, I think you're at the LSAT medians for Chicago and NYU, but a retake might be worth it anyway.

Thanks for that perspective; I'll still be in my senior year of college while applying so that scenario isn't applicable to me. I can see how that would make a major difference.

I don't plan on applying to NYU or Chicago.

3.76. I got each of CCN but missed out on H, so I've spent some time analyzing the things that went wrong.

Can I ask why? Are you HYS+CLS or bust? I still think an app to Chi or N could give you some negotiating power with CLS. But you can figure this out later. For now, earlier the better.
