Anyone know which law schools, an underrepresented minority would have the best chance for acceptance.

My GPA is 3.0 (yes its low, i was a science mayor, didn't really plan on getting into law until after) and I'm taking the LSAT soon.
my practice scores have been around 150

Score at least 170 on your lsat.

Get to the LSAT sub forum and get to work! Where you end up will depend on your LSAT.

Seriously, forget everything else about admissions until you get that optimal LSAT score.

Do not take the actual LSAT until you are PTing until at a minimum of 170. You're gpa is going to hurt you, so all your apps are basically going to ride on your lsat score. Drill hard, and good luck.

Don't do that. Wait until you're actually ready. You're not going anywhere worthwhile with anything close to a 150.

While bringing up your lsat score is key, if you score mid 150's you may have a good chance at your state flagship school. Being a URM definitely helps. If you get into a school you just HAVE to kill it and graduate high. Big law will be out if the question but maybe you can network with alumni in the area. Honestly with that GPA top 20 or even 50 schools are out of the question unless you murder the LSAT.

What is a top law school to you, OP? Generally, a 3.0/URM will need to get pretty close to the school's median LSAT for a decent shot at Columbia through T30. Play with http://www.mylsn.info

Yikes. 150? Youll need a 160+ to have good shot at cracking the T30

I know a PR with a 3.4/161 whos only T30 acceptance was BC

I guess I will keep practicing and take it by the end of summer.
I could easily get to 160 with practice, maybe 170 if I hit it hard.

Why would you not "hit it hard"?

The next LSAT administration is in October. Take it then (assuming you're hitting the 170s).

What type of URM are you? Regardless, you should definitely hold off on the LSAT until you're PTing much higher than 150. With your GPA, you'll probably need to score at least in the very high 160s / low 170s to get accepted into a law school that will be worth attending. Take as many practice tests as you possibly can and make studying for the LSAT your second job! (Or your full-time job, if you have the resources.)
