company reputation on chances

My job as an engineer is in a tech corporation that is known to people working in the computer design industry but not outside. Does it make a difference if the applicant works in a well known company such as fortune-500s as opposed to no-name for schools such as H?

It's commonly said in this forum that only lsat/gpa matter but would be interested to know about the cases where it's not true for such schools.

Won't matter. To the extent that prior work experience matters at all, your position and responsibilities matter more than the company name. VP of Finance at some unknown company looks better than Data Entry Monkey at Google, no matter how cool and well-known Google is. (VP of Finance at Google would probably look marginally better than VP of Finance at Unknown Co., unless it's made clear in your resume that Unknown Co. is also a world leader in its field.)

The real question is: why do you want to leave this job for law?
