commitment letter legally binding

Post by lawedu2013 » Tue May 07, 2013 9:54 am

Can anybody tell me if the commitment letter (accompanying the seat deposit and also, especially, when accepting a deferral offer) is legally binding? There are sentences like " I will withdraw from all other school immediately and will not seek admission from any other school in the future" that one has to sign for.

many thanks!

OP, can't tell you much based on your vague details. Best thing to do so that you know for sure is to email the admissions office of the school and ask them.

OP, instead of asking TLS why don't you call the school and ask without giving your name?

I highly doubt a school will sue you for breach of contract.

But they might take away your acceptance.

There are also stories where the chool contacts other schools and informs them of your behavior and other schools also revoke your acceptance.

(I'm going to try and post in all three of these).
