My college GPA was nothing to brag about, I worked during school and graduated with a 2.9 GPA. I now have the time to study for my LSAT and believe I can do well but considering my Low GPA what kind of schools would I be looking at. I

With 170+, NU and UVA are in play for the T14. WUSTL is another common option for heavy splitters. URM or significant softs (military experience, etc.) could potentially increase your chances at a lot of schools.

170+ would make GULC, UVA, and NU possible.

For most regional schools, you would need to hit at least median to seriously be considered.

Where are you from? Where do you want to practice?

No income currently, I am going because finding a suitable job after undergrad has been uneventful.

This is not a valid reason to attend law school.

Have you thought about going into real estate?

With your GPA, it is highly unlikely that even with a 175+ on the LSAT, you will have a decision that will financially be a good bet.

You will likely end up paying 250-300k at Northwestern, UVA, or Georgetown for a chance (~50-70%) at getting a biglaw job...and that's if you score at the 99th % on the LSAT. So even if everything goes right for you, with a minimum wage opportunity cost, you won't have made any money to your name for at least 8-12 years.

If you don't get biglaw, you will have effectively ruined your life, financially.

Probably not the best path to go down just for money

I thin Sinfiery has a good point here, especially since you don't seem like you truly want practice law, but are simply unsure of what else to do. It would suck to spend all that money, land biglaw and then realize you hate law, but are stuck in it due to debt. A couple of decades ago things wouldn't have been that bad, but that's changed.
