I ask because if i take 27 credits this summer ill end up with a 3.27 assuming all A's, but if i take 30 credits ill get a 3.45, but if i get just 1 B+ out of those 30 credits it will drop down to a 3.43. So im wondering if i should take the extra class or just take 9 classes and be able to focus all of my attention on them. But now after typing this i realize that what will 1 more class really do?? am i right, or wrong? whats your opinion?
all the T14s have a strict 3.45 minimum GPA floor, definitely do everything you can to hit that. you're lucky you brought this to TLS before it was too late.

Look, let's err on the side of caution here, although I realize there are many, many posters who cherish any opportunity to be smug assholes, and this does seem to be an absurd question.

OP, no difference at all. Like, zero.

That's a shit ton of hours for summer. You sure you'll be able to handle all of that getting all A's? Summer courses moves at a pretty fast pace.

Just saying, don't take a bunch of hours to raise your GPA and then have it backfire and your GPA suffers. But if you think you can do it then best of luck to you.

I transfered into a new school with a 2.37 because of personal reasons, I have a 3.91 at my newest university. Which is much more indicative of my capabilities.

Ya i think i can handle it. Im not working and just assume that my days will consist of about 4-5 hours of school work, considering that 27 credits means ~27 hours of class time per week i figure its less than a full time job.

with the classes im taking, i don't think I will need to be spending much time out of class, but just incase that is why i said 4-5 hours per day. that equals roughly 35 hours a week of learning/study time. I think that i sufficient. But who knows, maybe i will have to adjust the time i spend accordingly.

i don't want to take that many credits. If there was a way i could get my gpa up higher i would, but im graduating in december and would like to have the GPA that im going to be applying with be in the 3.4 -3.45 range. wouldnt you do what ever you could to do that (if you needed to)?

I mean I don't think any of us would necessarily disagree with putting in a lot of effort for a GPA increase...but a 3.44 versus 3.45 doesn't justify the effort in any sense of the term

Yea it will make a difference but clearly not that much. Be careful not to get burned out.

Without taking the credits im going to have a 3.27, with the credits over the summer ill have a 3.44/3.45... Pretty big jump, i think its worth it.

What is the max credit hours you have ever taken? 27 seems like an absurd amount, especially for the summer. Even cake classes with busy work would be tough.

tough i can handle. impossible i can't.

Let's just hope that it is tough, for my GPA/future's sake.

The only way this could make a non-negligible difference is if a school sets 3.45 as a target for their 25, 50, or 75. Otherwise the difference is infinitesimal. 30 hours seems to be a lot so if I were you I would take the 27 and increase your odds of getting all As.
