Is my GPA holding me back or is it my LSAT?

My GPA was a 3.01 at a non-competitive college, and my LSAT was a 161. I got into American and Brooklyn and rejected from a bunch of other places. Last year I got all rejections and one wait list from William and Mary. I'm wondering if my GPA is just too low for higher ranked schools?

Doesn't really matter, because you can't change your GPA, but you can change your LSAT. Retake and reapply.

Your numbers are competitive at TT and below, but if you're looking at the first tier, both are holding you back. Unfortunately, you can't change your GPA, but if you can add a few points to your LSAT, you'd be much more competitive.

Your GPA is too low for nearly all decent schools unless compensated for with a high LSAT, which you also do not have. So, both.

Both. Get a 170 and pay sticker at a lower T14 or don't go to Law School. With your numbers you've essentially been weeded out of the legal profession even with law school acceptances.

Rough but true.

Yeah that's essentially what I was asking I guess.

If you have to ask, the answer is both.
