Status Checker Question

Just curious, but are schools able to see how many times an applicant logged in to see their status?
For example, if they could, I wonder what they think of people who check more than 5-10 times per day...

Yes. Apparently, they use it to see how productive you are. The theory is that if you have enough time to status check multiple times per day, then you are not a very good worker/student. But, if you don't check enough, they will think you aren't interested. 3 is a happy medium.

My rejection letter from Chicago told me how disappointed they were that I'd only accessed status check 2 times the entire waiting period.

I read somewhere from some adcom that they can check but don't (this might not be universal). However, if they are using it to gauge productivity it would be important for them to know that there is software that will check it as often as you'd like without you having to do anything...

I don't doubt that they CAN see how frequently you check; there is no way in hell that they do/give a shit.
