Sorry if this article has already been posted!

A friend of mine shared it on Facebook and it's actually pretty good (in my novice opinion). It's three days old so I'm guessing maybe someone on TLS has already shared it but I figured I'd take my chances.

I think this is the right forum to post this? If it isn't, sorry!

Nothing novel, as is expected from douchebag Tucker max. No offense to you, though :) .

I've actually never heard of him or read any of his other articles before, but I can see where he might be referred to as a douchebag. He's not very subtle, to put it lightly.

Every piece of negative news about law school should be met with celebration by those who are in the law school game and have the inside scoop.

I knew an article like this would've already been posted on TLS at some point. Should've trusted my 6th sense on this one....

Yeah I realized this too late. I guess Huff Post just re-used it cause it says they posted it like 3 days ago.

I feel that nothing is going to change my mind from going to LS.

And none of the reasons to go to LS that the author gives apply to me.

I like the author's use of sources:

His words: "The actual job of being a lawyer is NOTHING AT ALL like what you see on TV." [entire sentence is linked to citation]

Citation's words: "Sometimes, it is like television... Sometimes you knock it out of the park at the hearing. And sometimes, yes sometimes, you actually get to try a case, and, get this, win. Sometimes you are Michael Kuzak from L.A. Law."

Where did this guy go to law school? Cooley?

No. I just don't like his persistent use of misleading statements. I am a little mad that he created a thing called "fratire" though :x

Tucker Max is very smart and very good looking. I have no doubt that with the combo of these two he manipulated many women, and his abruptness is refreshing in a way. 3 things seem pertinent:

1.) His reading of why he was fired is odd. He had a partner hand feeding him finger foods in front of other people at the firm at an "after party" that's really still a firm event. I don't think they were concerned about a sexual harassment lawsuit. There would be no legitimate claim even if they had sex and he was no offered. They were concerned about a summer seducing a partner in front of the firm.

2.) How bad could the summer associate work have possibly been?

3.) Who chimes in their snowflake opinion at a meeting with a client they were invited to sit in on to observe?

From reading about his escapades it becomes apparent that if Mr. Max was not smart and good looking he would be on a street corner somewhere. I don't know how valuable his life opinions are.

My point was I'm not confident that he wasn't fired for his mental instability, and that his mental instability shaped his subjective perceptions of the legal industry. Knowing what a lawyer at a big firm actually does is critical to taking out 200k, as is knowing the job placement when making such a big investment. I'm not sure his conclusion that lawyers "don't do anything" is warranted.

A surprisingly good article from a guy I don't like (albeit because of his personal escapades).
