A Response After an Offer of Acceptance Via Email?

So I recently received an offer from one of the schools I applied to and was wondering what is the proper protocol of response to such an email. Obviously I want to recognize the email, but I don't want to give the impression I have accepted the offer nor that I am leaning in that direction, yet. Rather, I want let them know I am interested and keep them interested in me for possible further negotiations. What is the best way to respond?

don't. They took their sweet time letting you know of their decision, now it's your turn to let them sweat

Don't respond. Heck, I don't even call adcoms back when they leave acceptance voicemails. (OK I do but only when they specifically ask me to.)
