I'm sittin at a 3.6, 171, and am considering doing UVA's binding ED, as I'm unsure of my chances on RD. The only thing holding me back is I think I might get some scholly money from some of the lower T14 schools, which I would likely take.

What do you guys think? Would I be lookin at money from any of those schools? Also, does applying ED eliminate any chance of money from UVA? Thanks for your help.

How badly do you want to go to UVA? You'll probably get in ED but not RD.

You might see some a little bit of money at the lower T14, though it's a bit late in the cycle for some schools (Cornell).

Pretty badly, although I was nursing some longshot hopes at Penn or NYU, or even waiting a cycle and applying earlier and possibly retaking.

If I do go with the binding option, should I write a why Virginia essay? Or is the binding enough to show my commitment to go there?

Your in ED. Probably not in RD. An ED would pretty much end your chances at $, but it's happened before. You could probably get $ from the bottom quarter of the t14, though depending on how badly you want UVA the amount of $ may not be able to away you anyways.

You would be in at Penn ED too if that's your top choice.
Yes write why UVA if ED.

You need to look at http://www.lawschoolnumbers.com to see what kind of money people with your numbers got last cycle.

If you really are willing to retake the LSAT than thats what I would do. A few more points puts you in a much better position. Right now you're kind of on the cusp at a lot of schools and its hard to predict how things will go

EDIT: http://mylsn.info/dispresults.php

Here you go. Appears you could get 40-50k at lower T14's. NCG are a near lock.

Thanks for that, saying no to that much would be a little difficult, but I really would like to hit the MVP range. As terrible as waiting and retaking sounds, that might be my best option it seems.

I know it's a small sample size but it looks like you have a good shot at NYU and UVA RD based on last cycle and this cycle so far.

You are probably good at either one of NYU or UVA RD.
