It's common to raise your kids the right way in my culture.kalvano wrote:Allowed? Are you enslaved?BengaliFarmGirl wrote:I'm only allowed to do premed or engineering. Which is better for each?
My grandma is moving with me, and she doesn't like the area.IAFG wrote:You may also consider MIT.
Then why are you posting on TLS? These are not good UG majors to go to law school with.BengaliFarmGirl wrote:It's common to raise your kids the right way in my culture.kalvano wrote:Allowed? I don't want to be a doctor or an engineer, but I do want to do law. My UG major doesn't matter right.TripTrip wrote:Then why are you posting on TLS? Harvard and MIT are two miles apart. You should try harder when trolling.BengaliFarmGirl wrote:My grandma is moving with me, and she doesn't like the area.IAFG wrote:You may also consider MIT.
I'm Indian, too, but I'd like to note that this mindset is thoroughly offensive, and is the single biggest thing holding the Indian-American community back from actual cultural assimilation. There is nothing inherently toxic about getting other majors, and it's definitely not a poor reflection on parenting that others are actually allowed to pursue subjects they enjoy. Furthermore, if you want to get into a good law school, it is undergraduate GPA that matters, regardless of major, so if you do consider liberal arts majors (and their parents) somehow subhuman or inferior, you would still be best-suited to major in a humanities major and get a high GPA anyhow. Like law school, one can enter medical school without necessarily having a premed/biology track anyway.BengaliFarmGirl wrote:It's common to raise your kids the right way in my culture.kalvano wrote:Allowed? You're right. I missed it on account of how unfunny it was. Woooosh. Right over my head.kalvano wrote:Flaming troll.
