Need to Update Apps for Thesis Change?

When I submitted my apps in November I fully planned on completing my thesis and graduating with honors which was all included in my apps. I have since been having major problems with my thesis advisor who consistently tells me I should drop the thesis meaning I would not graduate with honors. I'm hoping I will be able to change my advisor, but if I have to drop my thesis and not graduate with honors do I need to inform schools of this change?
