Penn Law ED Question - High GPA, Low LSAT

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to gauge my chances at Penn Law ED this cycle. I just took the LSAT and received a 165, after much studying and struggle. I completely understand that that number alone doesn't quite merit a high likelihood of acceptance to Penn, but...

I went to Penn as an undergrad and have a 3.91 GPA from the school. I also have been working for a year as a paralegal at a Big Law firm in Washington, DC.

I was wondering if anyone had any additional insight on how friendly Penn may be to my situation, whether ED is worth it, and anything else.

Thanks!

.

Retake and reapply next cycle. Smash the LSAT and enjoy HYSCCN.

You should probably retake with that GPA.

Thanks, everyone! I guess in my mind I see Penn undergrad and the high GPA as more a plus than perhaps they really are. Is there anyone with experience applying to Penn with similar numbers? Is the school amenable to the factors I have listed?

I don't think anyone is saying you can't get in to Penn. I think what they are saying is with that GPA and 6 more points you might be competitive at HYS

...or in good shape to receive substantial money at Penn.

My stats are close to yours and I got in ED. Could not be more pleased. Penn is great. Also got $ too :)!

Maybe before the whole Sandusky fiasco, but it's still too fresh in people's mind. Sorry.

We're talking about the University of Pennsylvania in this thread, i.e. "Penn," no?

Sandusky was from Pennsylvania State University, i.e. "Penn State."

Penn State is the same thing as Penn. I think the Paterno thing will stick with the university for awhile, may want to reconsider your ED

Penn State is what they call the athletics program. Sort of how UC-Berkeley is Berkeley for academics and Cal for athletics.
