February LSAT

I've gotten some advice on this but I thought I'd ask the board as well. I took the December LSAT, but I'm not confident I will have scored as high as I would have liked. I only had a month to study and the highest I ever got on a practice was a 155. I'm shooting for a 160. If when I receive my score, it's not what I'd like, should I retake in February (still applying for fall 2013)? I know the February LSAT gets a bad rap but I also know how important the LSAT score is to admission.

If you don't get the score you want from December, you should wait until next cycle to apply. The February LSAT is too late to have a good cycle.

I agree with Trip.
If your score does not reflect your max potential,
you should probably study till June, kill it, and apply early.

I still think you should take June anyway. Or take Feb and June, if you think you can be ready by Feb.
That would put in the best position to get off WLs or get scholly money late....
...Plus, if your cycle doesnt shake out, youll be ready for next cycle.

With a 155? Where do you want to go and what do you want to do?

Take the February test - it will be taken into consideration anywhere that hasn't declined you already. If you have some schools you want to still apply to but haven't, do so on the last possible date.
Last cycle people got accepted based on Feb scores and got off the waitlist off June scores.
Alternatively, a higher score allows you to tenegiriate a better scholarship at schools where you have been accepted

Animal law is a thing?
Yep. It's also distinct from Animal Rights, which is also a thing.
L&C is just about the only law school offering more than 1 class on the topic, and has quite a few.
Put simply, animal law is law related to animals, from animal abuse to meat & dairy production.
Animal rights, is, well, rights for animals. Find the craziest hippie environmentalist and ask them about it - odds are, they'll roll their eyes.

I assumed that. Still, I like to be aware of new words.
Also, apple's autocorrect is evil. I disabled mine after I typed "Oh" as a response to a text, and it changed it to "oolong."

Pretty much any way you look at it, you should wait a cycle. Study hard for June. Work part-time. Apply early in the fall. If June doesn't work out, do October.
You've got five months til June, and the legal market sucks. Fuck the 155 and 160. The LSAT is super learnable.
I know it's not what you want to hear---- but financially, it's better- your chance of a nice scholarship will dramatically increase if you wait and apply early in the cycle. Your chance of a higher LSAT score is way higher, meaning better school and definitely better scholarship.
Taking off a year can be awful.... And I don't know your particular situation, but in general there are so few cons to it, and so many pros.... Especially considering your LSAT situation.
(I'm doing the same)

Several prep companies are doing one month classes to prepare people for the Feb LSAT
If you have the money go for it.
You need to sign up now though -- most are starting right after the new year

I'm planning to take a one-month lsat prep course if I do decide to retake it. The thing about taking a year off is I've already been out of college 3 years, I don't want to take another. As it is I'll be 29 when I'm done with law school, I don't really want to be any older than that. I don't' see much point in fiddling away another year.
