Music/theater/art majors have to deal with the stigma that they're not really engaging in academic disciplines. I don't know how fair this is or how much it would actually have an effect in a law interview but it's out there definitely. Even easy social science majors are seen as at least studying "something".

Chill out dude. I say this not because I am sympathetic to the OP but just that I got warned by mods for talking like this in the past

Don't give music majors flack for actually majoring in something we enjoy.

If you suck at your major, odds are you don't like it. Like someone above said. You can get a 4.0 in pretty much any major, as long as you enjoy it enough to put in the time.
Thank you sensei Seagal. I'm sure you learned that a very looooong time ago when you were the only semi-white boy in Japan with your Xi Han gurus - please teach me your lethal moves.

What kind of extracurricular activities do law schools like?
Why don't you try reading the What Are My Chances forum - lots of people post about their backgrounds/experiences and people evaluate what improves an application. There is lots and lots of information already on this forum if you'd just read around.

No one cares what classes you take.

Find a trade off between maximizing your GPA and subject matter you would be comfortable falling back on if law doesn't work out.

Well believe it.

Although don't believe it too much, there's some anecdotal evidence (even from posters way earlier in this thread) that have experience with less than stellar majors/schools bringing down their amazing GPAs. GPA definitely trumps major/school 10 to 1, but if your goal is HYS it's worth considering just how blatantly easy your major/school looks to adcomms. If it was me, I'd trade a 4.0 at a random community college for a 3.95 with a school adcomms will have at least heard of or in a major that people don't immediately associate with negativity.

Any argument that relies on "nothing matters except numbers" just doesn't apply to YHS. H is still pretty much numbers based but they don't have to be. And YS really aren't. Those two require high numbers as a prereq only. You need something else.

My major is History but
my question to you is - does it matter what other classes I take? What if I took music?
