Updating transcript/scholarship-contact admissions directly?

I did very well this past semester and my GPA rose by about .05 on the LSAC scale. I have already requested an updated transcript, but I was wondering if I should also send an e-mail to a couple of schools that haven't made a decision yet. Is this a good idea?
Second, at one school, I am applying for a named scholarship. I finished the outside application and essays. Would it be wise to send a copy of these materials to the admissions office? (In this case, the scholarship is reviewed independently from admissions).
