How do LS Waitlists and Scholarships work?

Hey guys, please forgive me for my ignorance but can someone explain to me, generally, how law school wait lists work?

Say i get waitlisted at Michigan but into Cornell or something like that. Can I deposit into Cornell and have my spot saved there and then switch to Michigan should I get in off the waitlist? When do they usually inform you of waitlist decisions?

Also for scholarships, do they usually just tell you how much they are offering you with their offer of admission? Or do you have to try to play them off against each other and how exactly does that work / how do you go about it

talking about t14 here primarily.

If you're getting any $, they'll tell you when they admit you. You can still try to negotiate though. Adcomms may say they don't negotiate or whatever, but they're lying. They do.

Thanks, do you just email the director of admissions direclty or is there a more nuanced way to go about it?

any light on the Waitlist process?
