How closely do you think applications are analyzed for error

Post by be(au)ar » Thu Nov 08, 2012 4:51 am

In my personal statement, for example, I said I had been working at the age of 15. This was mostly under the table work, nothing serious. In the employment section of the application, I described my work experience starting from my first real job at the age of 17/18. Will this raise any eyebrows?

If you mention mowing your neighbors lawn as a kid in your PS, they wont be shocked to find it absent from your resume either.

They probably won't notice. They need to read thousands of apps, so it'll be rather quickly.
If they happen to notice, they probably won't give a shit about a minor or understandable discrepancy.
Now if you claimed to have started your own company, and that's missing from your resume it'd be more suspicious
