Miscellaneous addendum in an application

I'm currently a journalist working at a legal newspaper, so half of my job involves combing through appellate court opinions and translating the legalese into something more accessible to the public. I got into a couple T14s last app cycle, but I took some time off for financial reasons and plan apply for '14.
I know there's an option to add additional miscellaneous addenda to apps, but I've never really heard of anyone including a positive (as opposed to negative, as in explaining a low GPA or LSAT) addendum with an application. I've truly learned a lot about the law through this job, and I feel like it would be helpful to send a clip along with the application - just a ~500 word published story analyzing some grey area in the law.
Anyone else include anything like this in an application? Not sure if it's appropriate, but after thinking about it, I don't really see how it could hurt.
