Stanford DS Important?
How important is it to provide Stanford with a DS?

I submitted one. I figured it could really only help. I don't think they would hold it against you if you submit one, and if it is thoughtful, well-written, and gives them a better idea of who you are, it may help convince them that they should accept you.
In short, I think it is helpful but not crucial.
