applying this cycle. early still the best bet?

LSAT test takers declined in June and if things are as projected, Oct is going to see similar or lower numbers (the LSAT will prob end up costing $300 at this rate). This, combined with the fact that less peopel are applying every year, made me wonder if the rule for applying as early as possible is still standing in this cycle. My reasoning was that since less people are applying, the law school will be left with more open seats as the cycle continues, and will end up "having" to accept people with lower #s just to fill the class. Does this make sense? Perhaps not, but I was wondering if what people here think. Does the same strategy apply to this cycle?

thanks for any thoughts.

I expect law schools to hold on to applications longer before making a final decision if the person isn't an auto-admit. They'll wait till the end of the season to see what they need.

I still think applying early is the way to go.
